Prisma is an interactive marble table combining mineral geometries, parametric design and a radically reduced construction system.
The form draws inspiration from crystalline prisms and the faceted structures of minerals. The base is generated from a single bent metal-wire module, repeated in three rotated positions. Its overlapping profiles create a geometry that changes continuously with the observer’s viewpoint.
A solid marble top rests on this open, almost immaterial lattice. The structure recalls the stereometric principles and measured proportions of Mediterranean architecture. Weight and lightness coexist through transparency, repetition and optical illusion.
Presented within Free Cage at Thessaloniki Design Week 2019, the table became an interactive object. Sensors beneath the tabletop detected visitors’ proximity and modulated the suspended light above. Furniture was transformed into a responsive interface between body, space and technology.
Prisma interprets the table as a convergence of mineral form, parametric logic and responsive technology. A minimal structure becomes a changing spatial presence, activated by light, movement and perception.
